The King's Gambit hosted by Christ The King School is a K-6 tournament with the
following divisions: K-2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. The second haf of the 7-8 and 9-12 team event will also be held at this time, and all those registered in the first half at the Richland Rook Roundup are expected to attend or send a substitute. (K-6 sections maybe combined or changed depending on the number of registrants).

Each participant in the K-6 event will play in all five rounds (Swiss System pairing), using a Game/30 format (i.e., each player has 30 minutes to complete their moves resulting in a maximum game duration of 60 minutes).

Individual and team trophies will be awarded.

K-6 Elementary students who receive 3.0 points qualify for the State Elementary Chess Championships.

The check-in table will open at 8:00 a.m. All registered participants must check in by 8:30 a.m. Late arrivals will forfeit their first round match. The first round will begin at approximately 9:00 a.m. Subsequent rounds will begin approximately 15 minutes after the ending of the previous round. The approximate time for the awards presentation is 3:00 p.m.
