Notes from the Event Director
Five-Round G/30 Swiss Paired Tournament - 2025 WA State Elementary Chess Championship (WSECC) Qualifier Event
If you've registered through the Chess4Life website, you do not need to register through ChessReg! Not all players will be visible on ChessReg tournament rosters as registration is open across multiple sites -- A full roster of players will be available at the start of the tournament.
Chess4Life Tournaments offer players the opportunity to practice their chess skills and sportsmanship, as well as qualify for the Championship sections of the 2025 WA State Elementary Chess Championship!
Players will compete in 5 Rounds (G/30) within their section, and a positive score will result in Qualification (Kindergarten players do not need to qualify to compete in State but it is still great practice).
The tournament begins at 2:00 PM and concludes by 7:00 PM -- Parents can drop off players or remain in the center lobby.
Schedule:
5 rounds, Swiss pairings provided before each round. Players able to play practice games or join parents in lobby in between Rounds. Parents can drop off and pick up players upon tournament completion.

* Students not present at their boards at 2:00 PM PT will be forfeited from their Round 1 (and possibly subsequent games).
** As soon as all players from a section have finished their previous Round, the Tournament Director will pair and begin the next Round.
More Details:
Players will have access to a center phone to call parents for pick-up when their games are completed.
Tournament open to players grades K - 12th in Sections: K - 6 U700 and K - 12 OPEN. Everyone will play five games (excluding byes due to odd numbers). Players with a positive end score will be qualified for the Championship Section of the 2025 Washington State Scholastic Chess Championship (3 points for 1st - 6th graders. Kindergarten and Middle schoolers do not need to Qualify).
Format - Rated AND Unrated Players Welcome!
Two Sections: K- 6 U700 (Rated Under 700 NWSRS) and K - 12 OPEN
