With just one week until State, this is possibly the best opportunity for our local scholastic players to sharpen their skills in a serious tournament setting. Whether you're looking to refine your strategy, learn from strong local competitors, or get valuable feedback between rounds, this tournament is designed to help prepare you for the Idaho Scholastic State Chess Championships. In addition to competition, we’ll also help newer players learn how to record their moves using chess notation, a key skill for any serious player. Compete, learn, and leave with insights that will make your State experience even stronger. Don’t miss this final warm-up—it’s time to get ready for State!

📍 Location: Black Dragon Games, Turf Plaza, 205 Falls Ave, Twin Falls, ID 83301
♟️ Format: 4-round Swiss System (everyone plays every round); G/30;d5 (30 minutes per player, 5-second delay per move)
🚀 Sections: Open to all chess players! US Chess membership required.
💰 Entry Fee: $30 (Need-based scholarships available upon request)
📝 Registration: Online registration strongly preferred

- 📜 Chess Notation Training (Optional): 9:15 AM
- ⏳ Anticipated Round Times: 9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:00 PM
