Alphabetical Pairings:

The Alphabetical pairings list each player alphabetically by last name (first column).

The second column shows what color they are playing.

The third column shows who they are playing (and their rating).

The last column shows what board number they are playing on.

In the example below, Joe Chessplayer is playing White on Board 1 against Sample Person. Jane Student is playing White on Board 2 against Mary Player.

Standings:

The Standings show the results of each round along with the total scores.

The results are coded as: W = Win, D = Draw, L = Loss, B = Full Point Bye, H = Half Point Bye, U = Zero Point Bye, X = Forfeit Win, Z = Forfeit Bye, F = Forfeit Loss.

The number after the letter is the opponent.

In the example below, #1 Jane Student won her Round 1 game against #2, Joe Chessplayer. Jane drew her Round 2 game against #3 Sample Person, and in Round 3, Jane got a forfeit win against #4 Mary Player.

The columns after Total are the tiebreaks (see part 4 of our Tournament Guide for more information about tiebreaks).
