Tournament Flyer - 2025 Idaho Scholastic Team Chess Championship

Location: Youth Building, Twin Falls County Fairgrounds, 215 Fair Ave, Filer, Idaho

Times: Check-in: 8:00-8:30 am
Review of Tournament Rules: 9:00
Round Times: 9:15 am continuous with a short lunch break after round 3

Note: Please bring sack lunch/snacks as local options are limited

Format: 5SS (everyone plays 5 rounds); G/30;d0 (30 minutes/person/game, no delay)

Sections: Open K-12

Registration: $10 per player. No memberships are required.

Prizes:
1st place overall (named the State Champions)
1st-3rd place Elementary, 1st-3rd place Middle School, 1st-3rd place High School
Drawings for additional prizes

Teams: Minimum of two players/team from the same school. Homeschoolers may play for teams that they would be on if they were in public school. Teams must be determined at registration. Teammates will not be paired against each other.
Wear your school shirts/colors to represent your school pride!

Scoring: Results of top four scorers of the team are added together for team total

Games: Chess sets provided, clocks provided
TDs: Tilly Backstrom, Peter Clark
Tie-break Order: Solkoff, Cumulative, Cumulative of Opposition, Modified Median
Byes: Maximum 1-half point bye, Rounds 1-4, commit before round 2 is paired. 0-point bye last round.

Tournament hall will be in the "Youth Building"; Skittles and hangout area will be on the grass west of the Youth Building, unless weather dictates moving indoors.
