Intermediate Chess Camp
Join the Magic Valley Chess Association for a 2-day chess camp in the new classroom at the Twin Falls City Pool—designed to help developing players sharpen their skills and prepare for competitive play.
This camp is for students who already know the rules of chess and have a solid understanding of how the pieces move. It is a great fit for students who have completed a beginner chess class, play regularly online, or want to improve their over-the-board game.
Students will learn:
- How to use a chess clock
- Tournament rules and etiquette
- Opening fundamentals
- Common tactical patterns
- Attacking and defensive ideas
- Additional checkmate patterns
- Planning and strategy
