Registration Cutoff

Registration cutoff is on Fri, Oct 6th 2023, 17:00. After the cutoff you may register on the wait list (you will not be charged at this time).

Notes from the Event Director

Check in from 8am to 8:45am. First round at 9am. Players not checked in by 8:45 will forfeit the first round.

All section are NWSRS Rated. K-3 and K-8 Open sections are NWSRS/USCF Dual Rated. It is limited to 150 players.

It is WA State Qualifier!

All refunds subject to a $5 fee. No refunds given after October 6th.

AWARDS:
Trophies awarded to the top-scoring players in each section. Trophies awarded to the top 5
finishing teams (top 4 scores from same school comprise team score) across all sections. Medals for first-
time tournament players who do not earn a trophy. Ice cream gift certificates for good sports in each section.

Health/Safety Protocols:
Face masks are optional for players and spectators. If interested, please bring your own mask.

Concessions:
Pizza lunch available for pre-order when registering. Other concessions will be available for purchase on site.

Clocks:
Chess clocks will be used from the beginning in the Open sections, please bring a digital clock if you have one. Some clocks will be available to borrow. Clocks not required for the other sections, until a judge places one on your board after 40 minutes of play.

Rapid Sections: A 5-Round G/25; +5 Swiss in four sections:
K-1 U800
2-3 U800

K-1 U800 and 2-3 U800 sections will run separately from the other sections on their own schedule, starting each round quickly after the previous round finishes. Awards ceremony for those sections will happen immediately following the final round.

K-3 Open

Please note that recently purchased or renewed membership will not update in our system until the USCF published the next month's ratings update. We will still be able to verify the membership manually.

Driving Directions:

I-90 east to the Lakemont Boulevard exit (Exit 13)
Head south on Lakemont Boulevard for 2.2 miles.
Turn left on SE Cougar Mountain Way and follow up hill.
SE Cougar Mountain Way becomes 168th Place SE.
Follow road around a 90 degree turn to the right to SE 60th Street.
Open Window School entrance is on your right.
