Notes from the Event Director
Come join us for the Hanford High Tournament, hosted by the Hanford High School Chess Club! This is a K-12 tournament. Individual trophies and team trophies will be awarded and will be dependent on the number of participants per grade level or section with a minimum of 1st through 3rd place presented per grade level or section. Each participant will play five rounds using the Swiss Sys pairing system (S, C, O tiebreaks). Players earning a 3.0 and higher will qualify for the state chess championship in May!
Entry fee is $15 up until 2 weeks before the tournament, then $20 between 7-14 days before the event.
Starting the week of the event, the entry fee is $25/player for late registration. However, we expect registration will fill and close so please register early and pay timely. Note: Online Registration Closes when full (250 K-12 players) or on the Wednesday prior to the event at 12:00 pm PST.
Refunds are subject to a $5 processing fee. No refunds after January 7th, 2026.
